BA30v2/R6 Front Wheel

If you’re riding hard in rough terrain, casing occasionally (or often), and don’t want to think twice about your rims holding up, the BA30 is the rim for you. It delivers the confident feel of a stiff platform with just enough give to keep things tracking smooth.  It’s made for riders who charge hard and expect their gear to hold up.

With the v2, we’ve built on the original strength-focused design and made it even tougher.  A refined beadwall and sidewall design delivers 20% more impact resistance than its predecessor. The deeper rim section resists flat spots more effectively, while a wider central channel makes tire installs and trailside fixes easier. And thanks to optimized shaping and smart material redistribution, we’ve achieved all this with zero increase in weight.

Our most aggressive alloy rim, proven on the world’s roughest tracks is laced to our brand new R6 hub. The R6 uses a 7075-aluminium axle with press on end caps and a larger diameter ratchet ring interfacing with 6 pawls. These interact in 2 sets of 3 resulting in 96 points of engagement. The alloy axle aids stiffness the use of press on end caps prevents over preloading the hub bearings or ends caps backing off in use. One of the design goals was to minimise friction, refining our axle tolerances and designing a single lip freehub seal helped us achieve or friction goals while maintaining the reliability our hubs are known for.
